GENERAL PROJECT

WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good morning all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the little bit of sun we are getting.

This week the team are working on the directional drilled pipework for the Rising Main, which is nearly complete. The construction of the air value and washout chambers are ongoing to the A167m easement.

New pipework has been installed from the discharge chamber to Brasside Sewerage Treatment Works and the team are now working on the West side of the railway line installing gravity pipework towards Chester Low Road.

The team have begun preparation at Plawsworth Sewerage Treatment Works for the installation of foul sewer pipework.

Thank you for your time. Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com.
